DVD Burner
I was trying to install the DVD burner that Alanna picked up for me. The first thing I noticed was how well the insides of the MAC G4 are put together. The next thing I noticed was that the DVD burner would not fit work. It seems that the door to the DVD burner was just a little bit bigger than the opening in the G4. So I gave up and expected to go and find another DVD burner that would work.
Alanna came home sunday from a little, karaoke and beer girls gone wild weekend, and proceeds to take the front door off the DVD drive with a paper clip and got the DVD drive working. I admit it. Your kung foo is better than mine.

Alanna and I are headed for NJ for week long full house episode staring my whole family. This is going to be pure madness. Hope I can get some good beach time and family bonding time in. We are of course packed to hilt with immense amounts of electronic gadgets including 2 ipods, a laptop, dualing digital cameras and a stash of DVDs.

The Shins show was really good last night. Well at least the Shins were really good. The opening band was a weird female rip off of Steely Dan, without the good songs. Everyone thought it was the fiery furnaces when they came out and it took them a few songs for them to even mention who they were. (They were not on the bill). The Fiery Furnaces would have been great if they had just played the first 45 seconds of the first song and called it a night. As it was, they played 40+ minutes with no breaks between songs and at the end I wondered whether people were clapping because they were leaving the stage or because they like them.
The Shins were good. Not great, but good. I wish the mix was a little louder. We were in a place by one of the bars were people kept talking during quiet songs and it drove me and Alanna crazy. We finally moved down lower once we counldn’t take it anymore

I sent my Pro Tools back to Musicians Friend and of course they took a nice 15% restocking fee because technically it has software in the box. Don’t try to explain to these people that the software doesn’t work with out the proprietary Pro Tools hardware and the hasp key that comes with it. Who cares if I could have made copies of the software, it still wont work.
Who wants to bet that they wait weeks before getting me my refund?
Now all I have to do is go and find Logic Pro Upgrade.
