xmas fun

We got up around 9am and got all our stuff together and went to the Pork Store for some breakfast, then jumped into the car for the trip down to Pacific Grove. We stopped in Percadero for Alanna to show me the nice house that she likes (wonderful property with a garden and house against the hill), then back on the road again.

We got into PG and checked to see if the gallery where Alanna has some art was open, then onto the B&B. We walked around PG and Monterey for a while and then went to dinner at Passionfish. A nice meal. We had more drinks at The Old Bath House and everybody seemed to know Alanna. We walked some more and drank some more and talked all the time. It was a great night. The moon was out and the ocean loooked beautiful.

We woke up around 9am on Christmas, went down for some breakfast and had a nice plate of goodies in the garden. We opened presents and fawned over them for a while as I read from the French Laundry Cookbook that Alanna got me.

We walked around the ocean and then back to the B&B for a little nap before our dinner. We were a little awake on coffee so we walked around down by the beach before dinner than arrived at the restaurant (The Old Bath House).

A nice glass of sparkling wine before dinner set the mood of the evening. Dinner was wonderful with excellent service and such a great atmosphere that not even the lame ass people at the table next to us could ruin it for us. Alanna had the Mushroom and I had the Filet and Lobster. A great place to be with great people serving you. What more could you ask?

More walking, more ocean more moonlight.

We drove back in a light rain up the coast. Stopping to pick up a pumpkin which later was turned into so many tortellinis that my brain was swimming.

Amazon Customer Service

Just in case you where wondering if Amazon even had a customer service department, yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus. You will not find the customer service number on their site, nor will you find the customer service email address.

But if you type in Amazon and phone number in Google you will find lots of peoples personal blogs that will give you the information that Amazon is so reluctant to.

Amazon Customer Service Phone# 800-201-7575

Funny Article about Finding the Amazon Customer Serivce Number:
http://slate.msn.com/id/2111081/

The Following was my Feedback to Amazon.com about this order problem.

Step one of the process would have been to have a email and phone where I would be able to contact customer service. It seems that the “Contact Us” section of your site does not actually have any way to contact you.

This page, (customer feedback form) to my knowledge is the only page on your site that actually has the customer service phone number for Amazon. If you type in “Amazon” and “phone number” in Google you do not find a single page on your site that gives this phone number. What you do find are news articles, blog entries and various posts about what a joke it is that no one can find the customer service phone number of Amazon.com.

So after I looked up your site through Network Solutions and found the phone number that connected me to your legal department, they were kind enough to leave the customer service phone number on their answering machine. At this point my customer service journey could begin.

I spoke with a very nice woman who let me know that my package was sent with some small service provider in NY called “Choice Logistics”. Now here is where it gets interesting.

It seems that Choice Logistics tried to deliver the package but no one was home to accept. So of course they leave a slip for you to sign so that they can leave it with a neighbor or trusted person, which this person did. But “Choice Logistics” did not leave the package, instead they showed the package as delivered and handed the package to the United States Post Office for later delivery. Of course the person who was to receive this package would not have been able to obtain any of this information because this was a gift and they did not have the all important Order#. I think maybe next time you should cut out the middle man and go with the USPS direct.

I do not want to tell you how to run your business, but I think the bigger problem was the fact that it took me so long to find “Customer Service” before I could work out the problem. (Which I finally did, by calling Choice Logistics, and not Amazon.com)

Now everytime I go to buy something from you, I will have to remember this incident and think twice. That is not something you want your customers to do.

P.S. You should work on this Feedback form. Taking all the spaces and returns out of the text makes it look like a mess.

Well here we are again. It’s December and Christmas is once again upon us. Alanna and I are making a list and checking it twice. I, ummm Santa has already gotten her lots of presents that are sitting under the tree and now I have to figure out how to get lots of presents are cards to my family and friends all over the place.

We had our company xmas party on friday and it was a lot of fun. A nice dinner at First Crush, and we even had little itunes gift certs for everybody at the table. (Thanks Paul)

Saturday was a nice party as Jhina’s house where Jhina and I debuted our new songs. At least in acoustic form. All went well, in that we were not intoxicated to actually play.

New Failure DVD and Autolux CD

I finally got the new Failure DVD of that they put out. While the DVD footage looks like it came from a handheld camcorder or worse, the content is really great. It made me really miss their second record (Magnified) which I had on tape only. I went out and got that last weekend, along with Gred Edwards new band Autolux. I think this CD is great and I am so happy that I found it. Any Failure fans who have not heard this record would greatly appreciate it.
