My problem with memory is that I remember lots of weird stuff.

I was walking across the street yeserday and I waved and said hello to someone who I recognized. The problem was that I didn’t remember their name and they clearly did not recognize me. It turns out that we knew each other through a mutual friend and had only met twice. The last time being over 2 years ago. This happens more that I realize.

Other instances of this would be when I saw someone I recognized from 5 years earlier in a record store and he had become an alcoholic. Not sure that even if he had his memory he would have remembered. How about when I had become friendly with a girl who worked at a music store and then saw her a few years later. She looked at me just like everybody looked at Jimmy Stewart from “It’s a wonderful life”. Maybe one day someone will just sock me in the jaw.

Nick the bartender: Hey look, mister – we serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast, and we don’t need any characters around to give the joint “atmosphere”. Is that clear, or do I have to slip you my left for a convincer?

After a long couple of weeks leading up to the holidays, here they are. Lots of work and I ended up being at work right up until 5pm on the friday right before Christmas.

I got my cast off earlier in the week and have spent the rest of the week trying to get my arm to do things that it used to do with no problem. Here is a small list of things that I would like to do with my arm right now.

1. turn my arm palm face up
2. turn the key in the ignition of my car
3. turn a lock
4. Brush my teeth
5. Shave
6. Fully extend my arm
7. use a mouse better with my right hand

I know that in time I will be able to do these things. Some of them just feel a little further off than others.

We had a nice xmas around the house and I got lots of goodies including Kurt Cobain journals and a chorus pedal. We then went over to Mod and Jessie’s for dinner and some Phase 10.

Alanna and I got back from a nice holiday with family on the east coast. Althought a little cold it was a fun time.

We went into NY the saturday after Thanksgiving and I don’t think we will make that mistake again. It was pretty crazy. Since when did shopping become a contact sport?

The arm is doing OK, if a bit smelly, and I am so happy to be getting this cast off next week if only for a couple of hours.
