They Live – Cripple Fight
The guys at south park really went to town in making sure that the cripple fight matched the one in John Carpenters “They Live“. Where is Roddy Piper now?
We’re watchin you suckas
Alanna and I were driving to Berkeley the other weekend and were at the light at University and 6th when I started to notice the amount of traffic cameras at the location.
I counted over 20 traffic cameras at this one location. What are all the cameras for? Its one thing to try and catch people who are blowing red lights or to have a gauge of traffic or something but what exactly would you need that many cameras for?
No commentsPractice being an old man
I hurt my back over the weekend so I have been ambulatory challenged this week. I wonder if this is what it will be like when I am older? Not being able to just get up from a chair or the couch. Having to first get a hold of something to help me around. Having to work up the courage to put my socks and shoes on. This is not the first time that I have had problems with my back. I have them pretty regularly. Usually they are not debilitating. Hopefully I will be over this one by the weekend.
I was told by my Chiropractor to start doing Pilates to strengthen my back and abdominal muscles. I think I should start with something a little more mellow and work my way up to that.
I think I should film myself trying to walk and get around. I’m sure I look pretty funny.
No commentsTurkey Day
Alanna and I went down to Mountain View for a small family get together with my sisters. There was much food to be had, nice wine and Alanna’s magical pies.
Kurt Vonnegut
This is a funny list of “15 things Kurt Vonnegut said better than anybody”
It’s pretty great to read through.
No commentsHonda fuel cell
I was not prepared for this commercial. While the big three (GM, Ford and Chrysler) keep saying that fuel cell and hybrid technology is 5-10 years out. (they have been saying that for 20 years) Honda is advertising and selling it’s fuel cell car today. Go to the website and check it out.
No commentsFinished
I am finally finished getting my new computer and music studio setup together. The last two pieces were my new Universal Audio PCIe card and an upgrade to Logic Studio.
The strange but great part about all of this, is that I didn’t have any show stoppers at all. No software that doesn’t work, no hardware that is not compatible. One piece after the other was able to be installed and work. I mean some stuff needed updated drivers, but I was able to get them. Everything worked, and I am kind of amazed.
The new Logic Studio is super great. One panel interface where everything is right in front of you. I was kind of amazed and caught of guard by the “Take” versioning. Makes putting multiple takes together and trying different combinations a snap. I haven’t even delved into the other parts like SoundTrack and MainStage.
I bought a new MacPro the week after the new operating system came out and I have been able to not only get totally moved over to the new system, but I have totally redone my project studio in two weeks. Thanks Apple.
No commentsGift cards are for chumps
There is a great post today on Seth Godin’s blog about gift cards. I think it is very true, if you are giving a gift card like that, people rarely use the whole thing and then the company that sold you the gift card keeps the unused portion that is never redeemed. Something even worse is that some places will charge you sales tax on the gift card (which they should not) and then charge you sales tax on your purchases when you use the gift card. Does that make sense?
No commentsEtrade
So I have a bunch of accounts with Etrade and some $(#$&% retarded ANALyst gave some crystal ball prediction that Etrade might declare bankruptcy over some write downs in it’s mortgage business. So their stock dropped by 2/3s and now people are talking about someone buying them.
I moved most of my money to Etrade because I thought all the other financial places like Schwab sucked. Now there is a possibility that one of those tards will buy Etrade. God I hope not. I like Etrade. They have been really great for me.

No commentsAlmost there
My new computer is almost complete. A new MacPro with a Motu 2408 audio card. I am just waiting for my new Universal Audio PCI express card and for my new version of Logic.
