New Pornographers Show
Alanna and I went to go and see the New Pornographers at Bimbos 365 last night. Great show. They were talkative, kinda drunk and very funny. As always, the SF crowd was as still as a funeral, but very appreciative. They were a little sloppy with the old material but they have a couple albums and it’s hard to keep all those songs straight.

Someone has once again smashed my motorcycle and this time they really did a great job of it. I came out last night from work to find my motorcycle totally fucked up. Evidently (from witnesses) the delivery guy at the DNA lounge smashed my bike and ran over the front wheel. This basicly smushed my front disc brake making it unable to even be pushed. This also smushed my front brake and clutche levers. They looked like pretzels.
I came to work today and had to have it towed over to KC Engineering down on Howard St. Another nice slap in the face was already having a parking ticket attached to it once I got to it this morning. It was very strange that I just happened to have a $50 dollar bill in my pocket, I was wondering all week how I was going to break it. Well, the tow saved me the trouble, because it was exactly $50. I think from now on when I get large currency I will be a little suspicious that the universe is setting me up for some reason to use it.

The new Nada Surf record “The Weight is a Gift” is out and let me tell you it is a gift. I have been waiting for this record all year. I saw them earlier this year and they did some of the songs from this record so I got a little glimpse of what I was in for. Well worth every penny. “Blankest Year” is still a fav.
More slow songs than is usual for them but I am not complaining. Same great lyrics and sounds. More later after a few listens.

This is our president scrawling this juvevile message to his secretary of state at a security counsil meeting at the U.N. Way to go George, you can wait, just like the big boys.
(Note the mix of regular and caps.)

“Feela so break up, I wanna go home.”
“History is made at night, character is what you are in the dark.”
Dr. Emilio Lizardo
Alanna got me “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension” for my birthday. Best 80’s b-movie ever. Probable the best roll for John Lithgow since Garp.
“Curse you Banzai!”

If you buy music from Itunes and are thinking of upgrading to Itunes 5.0 think again.
I thought I was going crazy for a little bit, but yes its true. Itunes 5.0 does not let you transfer mp4 (songs bought in the Itunes music store) onto your Ipod. Now I know this is crazy and maybe its just for the older IPODs but damn, that is a hell of a bug if it is.
There is no way to get MP4 files onto your IPOD in the new version, but if you burn a CD of the disc, reimport over your the songs that you bought and then drag those songs to your IPOD, what do you know, it will put them on your IPOD.
Man that is fucked up.
Bug? DRM strategy?
